Similar dishes to grechaniki can be found among the Bretons and Normans of France (known as Breton cookies – galettes), New Brunswick Canadians (ploye), Germans (baukwaiter-janinnerk), Koreans (memil-jeon). 

However, unlike the Ukrainian version, these are thinner, usually served with sweet sauces, jama of forest fruits or yogurt.
