With great joy and excitement, I announce that from today I am back on TV with the third season of my cooking show, La cucina di Vane, on Channel10, the first regional station in Lazio, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 1:15 PM and 7:45 PM, as in previous years, I am always on air before the lunch and dinner news!
The recipe prepared today on TV is the tasty and fragrant WALNUT CAKE, a dessert with rustic flavors and infinite deliciousness. The recipe for this dessert comes straight from my book, LA CUCINA DI VANE, which you can purchase in all bookstores and online stores. Served with a delicious chocolate glaze, the walnut cake is the perfect treat for breakfast and snack time for the whole family but is also delicious and perfect to serve at the table as an after-meal dessert.
From this year, all recipes made on TV will also be published on my blog, so it will be easier for you to find the recipe and make it.

- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Very inexpensive
- Preparation time: 20 Minutes
- Portions: 9-inch mold
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 5.3 oz walnuts
- 4.2 oz sugar
- 3 eggs
- 0.6 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sunflower oil (g)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2.1 oz dark chocolate
- 3 tablespoons cream
- Half tablespoon water
Steps
Start by blending the walnuts with a tablespoon of sugar taken from the total, you should achieve a walnut flour.
In two bowls, separate the eggs into yolks and whites, whisk the whites until they are fluffy and foamy.
Whisk the yolks with the sugar, add the oil and mix. Also sift in the flour with the baking powder, mix well to have a fluffy and airy mixture.
Now, add the whipped egg whites and the walnut flour to this mixture, in several additions, proceeding with gentle motions from bottom to top to avoid deflating the egg whites.
Pour the batter into a mold lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for about 45 minutes.
While the cake is baking, prepare the glaze by chopping the chocolate and melting it in the microwave or in a bain-marie. While the melted chocolate is still very hot, stirring, add the cream and the water.
Cover the glaze and set it aside until use.
Once the cake is baked and cooled, pour the glaze over it and decorate as desired with walnut halves, the walnut cake is ready to be served and enjoyed!
