- 1.7 cups water

- Half golden onion
- to taste fine salt
- 7 oz peas (also frozen)
Tools
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Spoon
- 1 Pan
- 1 Knife
- 1 Lid
Steps
To prepare the Meatballs with Peas in Tomato Sauce, first let’s focus on the sauce.
Dice the onion.
In a large pan, sauté the onion in the oil for two minutes over low heat.
Add the tomato sauce, water, and salt, stir, cover, and continue cooking for 15 minutes on low heat.
Meanwhile, let’s prepare the meatballs.
In a bowl, combine the ground beef with the eggs, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper.
Add the grated cheese of your choice and mix everything with your hands until you get a soft but homogeneous dough.
With damp hands, prepare the meatballs.
With this mixture, if each meatball weighs about 45 g, you’ll make 18.
Drop them into the sauce, gently stir.
Cover again with the lid and continue cooking for 30 minutes on low heat.
After this time, add the peas, stir again, and finish cooking for another 15 minutes.
Serve the Meatballs with Peas in Tomato Sauce hot, accompanied by fresh bread.
If using fresh peas, extend their cooking by 5 minutes if they are small, or if they are large, you can blanch them for 10 minutes before adding them to the sauce.
