The brookies are born from the combination of two American recipes: brownies and cookies. In one bite, you can savor a delicious layer of fudgy brownie and a layer of chocolate chip cookies.
To make this recipe, you will need simple ingredients that are often found in the pantry or fridge: flour, eggs, sugar, butter, and chocolate.
Once ready and cooled, you can enjoy the brookies for breakfast or as a snack, perfect with a cup of milk!

- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Steps
To make the brookies, start by preparing the brownie mixture.
In a bowl, beat the melted butter with the sugar and cocoa; using a hand whisk or an electric mixer. Mix until you get a smooth mixture.
Add the eggs and vanilla, mix for another moment to incorporate them.
Lastly, add the dry ingredients: flour and chocolate chips, gently mix with a spatula to incorporate them.
Pour the brownie batter into a square (8×8 inch) pan lined with parchment paper. Spread the batter with a spatula and set aside.
Make the cookie dough. In a bowl, using a mixer or a whisk, mix the melted butter with the sugar for 1-2 minutes until you get a smooth mixture.
Add the egg and vanilla, stir for another minute with a hand whisk.
Finish with the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, and chocolate chips.
Gently mix with a spatula until you get a smooth and soft dough.
Pour the cookie dough into the pan over the brownie batter. Spread gently with a spatula until completely covering the brownies.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 30 minutes, or in the air fryer at 330°F for 25 minutes.
Check the cooking with a toothpick or the blade of a knife, it should come out with crumbs and not with liquid batter.
Let the brookies cool completely in the pan before removing them and placing them on a large plate. Cut the brookies with a large knife into 16 equal small pieces. Enjoy!
