Cookies are tasty chocolate chip cookies, famous worldwide as a representation of American culinary culture. I always used to eat the store-bought ones, but then I tried making them at home and it was a success! These cookies are very fragrant and please everyone: both chocolate lovers and those who aren’t. They are ideal for breakfast or any other time of the day: for a coffee break or to enjoy in front of the TV.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup 00 flour (all-purpose flour)
  • 3/4 cup dark chocolate chips (about 4.2 oz)
  • 7 tbsp unsalted butter (or 1/3 cup sunflower oil (about 2.7 fl oz))
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (about 3.5 oz)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps

  • To make the cookies, in a bowl pour the flour, the brown sugar and the baking powder. Mix, then form a well in the center and add the vanilla extract, the cold butter cut into small pieces (or the oil) and the egg.

  • Knead and add the chocolate chips last. Combine the ingredients until you obtain a smooth, compact dough. Form a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for one hour.

  • Then remove the dough from the refrigerator, form balls of the desired size and flatten them with your hands.

  • Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for 10-12 minutes, until golden.

  • Once baked, let them rest 5 minutes then transfer them to a wire rack and cool completely. Enjoy!
