The APPLE-ORANGE CAKE is the delicious recipe I prepared on TV in my show La cucina di Vane on Canale10, a cake with all the goodness of apples and the scent of orange, to make on a cold winter afternoon, and then enjoy with a nice cup of hot tea.

I love sweets with apples and oranges and I was sure that once I made this delicious cake, I would fall in love with it at the first bite, indeed, just from the wonderful aroma it emitted while baking, I was sure it would be amazing!

Very simple to prepare, you separate the dry ingredients in one bowl and the liquid ones in another, in a few minutes the batter is ready, and then orange and apples will work their magic together in this delicious dessert.

The apple-orange cake is very soft thanks to the apples that make the batter moist and very fragrant thanks to the orange, of which we will use the juice, the peel, and also some slices as decoration along with the apples. The apple-orange cake is the apple and orange cake without butter in the batter, a simple and genuine dessert perfect for breakfast and snack for the whole family. Ingredients for 9-inch pan

  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup sunflower oil
  • 1 untreated orange (we will use juice and zest)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 apples
  • 1 orange (untreated)

Steps

  • To prepare the apple-orange cake, start by dividing the ingredients into two large bowls, so the dry ingredients, flour, sugar, and baking powder, put them in one bowl, and the liquid ingredients, eggs, oil, and orange juice in another bowl.

    Mix the powders well with the help of a spatula, also mix the liquids with the help of a hand whisk.

  • Now pour the liquids, little by little, into the bowl of powders, always stirring with the hand whisk, you need to get a creamy and lump-free batter.

    At this point, add the grated orange zest and mix again.

    Peel and slice the two apples into thin slices, slice the orange into very thin slices as well.

    Pour the batter into a pan whose bottom you have greased and floured or lined with parchment paper. Once the batter is poured, decorate the surface with alternating slices of apple and orange.

    Bake the cake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for about 40-45 minutes, baking times may vary from oven to oven.

    Once the apple-orange cake is baked, let it cool completely in its pan, when serving it, cover it with a light dusting of powdered sugar.
