Microwave Chocolate Cake

The microwave chocolate cake is really quick to prepare!
If you like chocolate as much as I do, this is definitely the cake for you.
The chocolaty part is given by the cocoa, but if you want it with a more intense flavor you can always add some melted dark chocolate to the mixture… it might require 1-2 more tablespoons of flour, but it can be done!
So prepare the ingredients, incorporate them together, and here is our cake ready for baking, and in a few minutes, it will be ready to eat! It is prepared in a few minutes, cooks even faster, and remains soft and intense, like a cake made with care.
It’s not a shortcut, it’s just a smart way not to give up a warm, fragrant dessert that tastes like home.
Cooking times may vary depending on the power of the microwave, but still in very short times.
Try making my microwave-baked cake following the recipe, and I am sure you will love it!

Ingredients for making the Microwave Chocolate Cake

  • 3 eggs (medium)
  • 7.75 oz sugar
  • 8.5 oz butter
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3.5 oz hazelnuts (chopped)
  • 3.5 tbsps whole milk
  • 2 tbsps rum
  • 1 packet baking powder (for microwave)
  • 0.5 oz powdered sugar

Tools

  • 1 Microwave Oven microwave

Preparation of the Microwave Chocolate Cake

  • Beat the eggs with the sugar in a high-speed cake mixer, once mounted, add the other ingredients at low speed a little at a time.
Finally, add the baking powder and hazelnut crumble, mixing everything well.
Take a microwave mold in plastic, silicone, or glass with a diameter of 9-9.5 inches with high edges, grease, and flour (for the silicone mold it is not necessary, I just dusted it with a bit of flour), pour the mixture and put it in the microwave for 8 minutes setting microwave + grill.
If the microwave is at least 650 watts of power, 8 minutes will be enough, otherwise, continue cooking being careful that it does not color too much, in this case remove the grill and complete the cooking by checking it with a wooden stick (if it comes out dry, it is cooked).
In any case, the total cooking time, considering that microwaves are not all the same, should be a maximum of 15 minutes for all microwaves.

  • Once cooked, leave the cake in the microwave for 10 minutes.
Once cooled, plate and serve with a dusting of powdered sugar.
