Two-tone crunchy cookies are one of the cookie varieties I’m making these days.
These are really simple and quick to make, and in my opinion, with that cocoa note, they reach the top of the taste scale.
These twists can be made in no time, and baking is quick too. To store them, just put them in a plastic bag and they will keep for several days.
Once the dough is made, just divide it into two equal parts and add cocoa to one, forming strands, one for each color, and twisting them together will form our cookies.
They are perfect for breakfast, but really, anytime is the right time to try one.

Ingredients for Two-Tone Crunchy Cookies
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 medium egg
- 1 package of vanilla sugar or liquid vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour + 2 tbsps for the work surface
- 3 tbsps unsweetened cocoa powder
Preparation of Two-Tone Crunchy Cookies
In a cake mixer, combine the softened butter and sugar and beat on high speed for one minute.
Add the egg, vanilla, and flour little by little, mixing well until all ingredients are combined.
The dough will be very soft at this point. Place it on a work surface, form a ball, and divide it into two. Add the cocoa to one part and reform a ball, adding a bit more flour to the other for the right consistency.
Divide each ball into 4, creating 4 cocoa pieces and 4 plain. Make two strands, one for each dough color, and twist them together to form a two-tone cookie.
Cut the two-tone strand into pieces about the length of a finger.
Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 12-15 minutes.
Once baked, let them cool completely before consuming.
