Quick San Biagio Cake

The quick San Biagio cake is another of the St. Biagio cakes, simple and tasty.
The cult of San Biagio is widespread throughout the Abruzzo area, it is customary to prepare sweet cakes whose essential ingredient is anise and they are very fragrant.
These cakes have a taste and a fragrance that conquers everyone!!
Try making them by following my recipe!
In L’Aquila, San Biagio’s day coincides with the anniversary of the earthquake on 02/03/1703.
They are typical sweets for San Biagio’s day, but I personally prepare them also during the year, they are too good, suitable for breakfast and snack for everyone.
This variant is slightly drier than the others, but still very good and even if you see it darkish in the photo, this is due to the ground star anise I used, a really fragrant and tasty quality that colors a bit, but I usually use anise seeds, then I blend them!
If you make this or any of my other recipes, send me the photos and I’ll publish them on my page with your name.
