The pan-fried bread rings are a quick, spiced bread with a unique flavor, made even more delicious by cooking them in a pan.
Pan cooking always adds that extra touch of flavor compared to the oven, simply because the contact with the pan creates a light crust, not burnt but cooked, which I really love.
The flavored oil I used to cook these rings gives this bread a unique taste; I recommend doubling the dose, because the amount I propose is finished too quickly.
Anyway, it’s a very soft bread that keeps well if stored in a paper or plastic bag.
I served them at the table as a classic bread, and needless to say, they were very well received.
Try making this recipe yourself, and if you make this or any of my other recipes, send me the photos, and I’ll publish them on my page with your name.

Ingredients for making Pan-fried Bread Rings
- 4/5 cup water
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp fresh yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- parsley (fresh chopped or dried to taste)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 pinch pepper
- 1 Cast Iron Skillet pan
Preparation of Pan-fried Bread Rings
In a bowl, put the warm water, dissolve the yeast in it, then add half of the flour and mix well.
Next, add the oil, salt, and the remaining flour, working the dough well until you get a smooth, well-kneaded ball.
Place the ball to rise in a bowl covered with kitchen wrap for at least 1 hour.
In the meantime, prepare the flavored oil by combining the oil, salt, pepper, parsley, and garlic, mix everything well and set aside.
Once risen, divide the dough into 15 equal pieces, roll each piece into a thin rope about 12 inches long, then fold it in half and twist it onto itself, joining the ends to create the ring.
Repeat with all the dough, then take a skillet with a thick bottom (I used a particular pan used for flatbreads, it’s infallible), heat it well, then adjust the gas to medium-low heat, place the rings, brush them with the prepared oil, cover with a lid and cook.
The cooking will take about 3-4 minutes per side.
Once cooked, brush them again with the oil while still hot, and once they have cooled a bit, they can already be enjoyed.
Enjoy your meal.
