Soft Cantucci Cooked in Air Fryer

Delicious, crumbly, very easy and super tasty. Have I convinced you? The stuffed cookies cooked in the air fryer lift your spirits with their goodness, perfect for the morning or any time of the day. I decided to try the air fryer version to avoid turning on the oven too often during hot summer days, and I must say the result is excellent.

Come with me, let’s start baking.

Happy baking, Giusi.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3.5 tbsp milk (Warm)
  • 3.5 tbsp Oil
  • 1 egg (at room temperature)
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 4 tbsp granulated sugar

Steps

  • In a bowl, pour the flour, add the sugar, baking powder, oil, milk, and eggs. Mix the ingredients well.

Pour everything onto a slightly floured work surface and knead the mixture with your hands until you get a smooth, soft, and homogeneous dough (if necessary, add more flour).

    Divide the dough into two.

  • Create a rectangle of 8 inches in length and 6 inches in height (adjust based on the size of your air fryer) spread the hazelnut cream in the center and create two folds until closed, press the edges well to seal.

Place the 2 loaves inside the air fryer and cook at 356 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes, after this time, with care and the help of kitchen utensils, flip the two loaves and cook for another 5 minutes.

Let the loaves cool completely inside the open-air fryer.

  • Once the loaves are completely cold, cut them with a knife to create the cookies.

The cantucci are ready to be enjoyed. See you at the next recipe.
