- 8 slices sandwich bread
- 8.8 oz buffalo mozzarella (Or cow’s milk mozzarella)
- 2 eggs
- as needed all-purpose flour
- as needed breadcrumbs
- as needed salt
- as needed extra virgin olive oil
Steps
Let’s start the preparation of these delicious hearts in a carriage, perfect as an appetizer for a romantic dinner 🥰
First, cut the mozzarella into slices and dry each slice on paper towels from all sides. The mozzarella must be dry.
Remove the crust edges from the sandwich bread.
Use a heart-shaped cutter to cut your hearts from the slices of sandwich bread and mozzarella.
Place a mozzarella heart inside a slice of sandwich bread, close with another slice and press well.
Dip the hearts first in flour to create a dry coating, then dip in previously beaten egg, and finally in breadcrumbs.
Fry in plenty of seed oil, browning each side. Drain on paper towels and lightly salt.
