Soft orange cookies are one of those small pleasures able to turn an ordinary day into a special moment.
Fragrant, light and with a lively flavor, they are perfect to accompany a steaming cup of tea, an after-lunch coffee or a breakfast that wants to start with a fresh note. Their soft texture distinguishes them from classic shortbread cookies: at the first bite they release a delicate aroma, while the balanced sweetness gives room to the citrus character that makes them irresistible.
What immediately strikes is the intense scent that spreads as soon as you open the container or take the last tray out of the oven.
Making them is a simple, almost therapeutic gesture that brings back the pleasure of small things done calmly.
It takes just a few minutes to see the dough take shape and just as little to obtain a tray of treats ready to share.
They are also perfect for those who like to give something homemade; their simplicity wins everyone and immediately speaks of genuine thoughtfulness.
These cookies are also suitable for endless occasions. They can be served during an informal snack, brought to a gathering with friends or kept in the cupboard for a sweet moment without feeling weighed down.
Their delicacy also makes them ideal for those who prefer desserts that are not too sugary, yet full of character.
I’m sure if you try them they’ll win you over at the first bite!!!!

Preparation of Soft Orange Cookies
In a bowl combine everything by hand, or use a stand mixer: put the eggs and sugar and mix well, then add the grated orange zest and the juice along with part of the flour and mix again.
Add the vanilla, the sunflower oil, the remaining flour and, when the dough is almost finished, add the chocolate chips, folding them well into the dough.
The dough will be soft, not workable by hand, of course.
Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and, using two spoons, form balls and place them on the sheet.
Bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for about 25 minutes. After baking, let cool and dust with powdered sugar.
