Yogurt Focaccia

Yogurt focaccia is a tasty, soft focaccia that is easy and quick to make.

With instant leavening and simple ingredients, the dough is easy to mix by hand and ready in about half an hour. It’s perfect to enjoy plain, stuffed, or served with cold cuts, cheeses or vegetables, as an appetizer or a quick meal for lunch or dinner, for both adults and children.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain yogurt (approximately 8.8 oz)
  • 2 1/3 cups type 0 flour (all-purpose flour)
  • 1 packet instant baking powder for savory preparations
  • rosemary
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • coarse salt
  • fine salt

Preparation of the yogurt focaccia

  • In a large bowl pour the yogurt, 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil and 1 tsp of fine salt and mix them.
    Add the flour, stir, and add the instant baking powder for savory preparations.

  • Knead until all the ingredients are absorbed, then transfer to a floured work surface, knead again until you have a soft, homogeneous dough and form a ball.
    Brush a 12-inch diameter pan with extra virgin olive oil and spread the dough with your fingers.

  • Also oil the surface of the yogurt focaccia and sprinkle it with a little coarse salt and some rosemary.
    Bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for 20 minutes.
    Remove from the oven, transfer the focaccia to a plate and serve.
