The Pancake Cheeseburger is a “new trend” that combines two recipes originating from the United States: pancakes and cheeseburgers.
A meat patty tucked between two savory pancakes, optionally accompanied by a sauce.
I chose a classic mayonnaise.
For the more adventurous, I invite you to try it with a drizzle of maple syrup...
The classic pancake recipe calls for butter, flour, milk, salt, sugar, and eggs (only egg whites in the original American recipe).
Remember that the term “hamburger” is reserved only for patties made with beef, others are “burger”.

- 1 1/2 tbsps butter
- 1 tsp baking powder
- to taste maple syrup (optional)
- 2.2 lbs ground beef
- 4 slices cheddar
- 2 tbsps mustard

Tools

Steps
Beat the egg whites.
Mix the milk with melted butter, then add sifted flour with baking powder, salt, and finally the egg whites.
Mix and cook the batter in a pancake pan.
For the patty: work the ground meat adding a pinch of salt, pepper, two tablespoons of mustard and form patties about 1/2 inch larger than the bun diameter.
Grill the burgers (after pressing the patties formed) over medium heat, direct fire. Allow for 10 minutes in total, flipping them after 5 minutes.
Fry the eggs.
Towards the end of cooking, place a slice of cheddar on top of each burger and let it melt over low heat.
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom pancake, fill with the cheeseburger, add the egg and close with another pancake.
Drizzle with maple syrup.
