The mini savory puff pastry croissants are small bites stuffed with various flavors, a special appetizer perfect for a festive buffet. Delicate and refined, these mini croissants can be filled as you like, according to your tastes.
The recipe is very simple, they are prepared in no time, you just need to cut a round pastry sheet into many small triangles and stuff them with cold cuts, pâté, cheese, olives, or sun-dried tomatoes, and in a few minutes, you’ll have a tasty appetizer ready to serve.
Puff pastry is an extremely versatile base with which you can make sweet or savory dishes, I often use it to make savory pies, pastry bundles, and assorted appetizers, it is very convenient and practical.
If you don’t want to use ready-made puff pastry, you can make it at home, although the process is a bit lengthy, the result will be definitely better; alternatively, I use shortcrust pastry or crazy dough, two more delicate bases with less fat.

Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (round)
- 6 olives
- 1 oz edam cheese (cubed)
- 1 oz mushrooms (sautéed)
- 1 oz cooked ham (or other deli meat of choice)
- as needed sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp milk (to brush on the surface of the appetizers)
Tools
- 1 Baking Tray
- 1 Pizza Cutter
Steps
Leave the puff pastry at room temperature for 10 minutes; this way, you can unfold it without breaking it.
Unroll the puff pastry, and using the pizza cutter, cut out 24 wedges; fill each wedge with your chosen filling. I used olives, edam cheese, cooked ham, and sautéed mushrooms.
Roll each wedge onto itself starting from the wider base toward the center to form 24 small croissants.
Place them on the baking tray, brush them with a little milk, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Bake the appetizers in a preheated static oven at 400°F for 15 minutes; pay attention to the baking, as they may darken quickly in the last minutes.
The mini savory puff pastry croissants are ready, take them out, let them cool, place them on a tray, and serve.
Tips
The mini savory puff pastry croissants will stay crispy for one day; after that, the puff pastry will become less crunchy. I recommend preparing them shortly before serving.
