The strawberries in white wine are a fresh and refined dessert that you will love at first bite, an alternative to the classic strawberry desserts like panna cotta or crumb cake which you can offer to your guests as a dessert.
The recipe is extremely quick; it’s been made in my house since I was little. My mom used sweet sparkling Lambrusco, which wasn’t very alcoholic, so my brother and I could enjoy the strawberries without any problem.
My version uses Moscato, a sweet, very aromatic white wine that makes them truly special.
To get a great dessert, you should use healthy, firm, and flavorful strawberries; avoid buying them and storing them in the fridge for a few days, as strawberries spoil quickly, risking mold formation. The best variety you find during this period in supermarkets and markets is Candonga, very sweet and aromatic, slightly more expensive but definitely worth it.

Ingredients
- 1.1 lbs strawberries
- 1/4 cup sugar (adjust according to strawberry sweetness)
- 5 oz white wine (Sweet Moscato)
- pieces lemon peel (or orange (2 or 3 pieces are enough))
Tools
- 1 Cutting Board
- 1 Bowl
- 4 Glasses
- 1 Vegetable Peeler
Procedure
To prepare this recipe, buy ripe and firm strawberries so they do not lose consistency after resting.
With a vegetable peeler, obtain three strips of lemon peel (only the yellow part).
Wash the strawberries well, pat them dry with paper towels, remove the leaves, and cut them into 4 if they are small or 8 if they are very large.
Place them in a bowl, add the sugar, and mix well so that the sugar begins to dissolve in the strawberry juices.
Add the lemon peel, sweet Moscato, mix gently, then cover and place in the fridge for 2 hours.
After the resting time, remove the lemon peel, transfer to 4 dessert glasses, and serve.
The strawberries in white wine are ready.
Tips
Storage
You can store the strawberries in white wine in the fridge for one day; however, remember that the longer they rest, the more they lose consistency. Therefore, I recommend preparing them, letting them rest for 2 hours, and serving them.
