Christmas Tree-Shaped Mini Pizzas

The Christmas tree-shaped mini pizzas are easy, quick, and tasty. All you need is a roll of puff pastry to create an appetizing and beautiful starter for the table.

The recipe is very simple; in less than 30 minutes, you’ll have a tray full of tree-shaped mini pizzas. During the holidays, there are a thousand things to do, and sometimes a quick appetizer solves a course in a few moves. I love buffet mini pizzas, and the oven-baked red mini pizzas are a real treat, but you don’t always have the time to let the dough rise. Today, I’m offering a simple version that will please both adults and children.

Use the cold puff pastry from the fridge to get perfect shapes, place them on the baking tray, season them to taste, and into the oven they go!

I topped them with spicy salami, but you can choose whatever you like: cured meats, cheeses, grilled or fresh vegetables are perfect ingredients to create a tray of assorted mini pizzas to please everyone’s taste.

Here are some perfect Christmas appetizers:

Ingredients

  • 1 roll puff pastry
  • 3/8 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • 3/4 cup pizza mozzarella
  • 2.5 oz spicy salami (small)
  • to taste chives

Tools

  • 1 Cutter Christmas tree-shaped
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 Chopping board

Procedure

  • In a small bowl, pour the tomato sauce and season with oil and salt, set aside.

Wash the chives and finely chop them with scissors.

Take the small salamis, they should be small (about 0.6 inches in diameter) and slice them thinly.

Cut the mozzarella into cubes and then chop it finely.

  • Roll out the puff pastry, use a tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut out as many trees as possible (depends on the size of the cutter, mine is quite large, so I got 10).

  • Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, prick them with a fork, and distribute a teaspoon of tomato sauce on each tree.

  • Bake the mini pizzas in a preheated static oven at 392°F for 5 minutes, remove from the oven, sprinkle the chopped mozzarella on top, and finish with 3 slices of spicy salami (to resemble tree ornaments). Put them back in the oven for another 5/7 minutes (until golden), adjust according to your oven’s power.

Once done, sprinkle some chopped chives on each tree.

The Christmas tree-shaped mini pizzas are ready, serve them immediately.
