FRUIT ICE CREAM RECIPE WITHOUT AN ICE CREAM MAKER
A clever recipe for making ice cream with frozen fruit WITHOUT AN ICE CREAM MAKER at home, fresh, creamy, and genuine because it’s made with fresh ingredients and without colorings or preservatives.
What could be better on these scorching days than savoring a delicious Fruit Ice Cream: perfect for snack time, or to serve to the whole family as a refreshing dessert at the end of a meal.
With this easy and quick RECIPE you can make many FRUIT ICE CREAMS, in the flavor you prefer, instantly and without using an ice cream maker.
In fact, to make it, you will only need frozen fruit of your preferred variety, Greek yogurt, without added sugars, blend them together in a food processor: the mixture will magically transform into a very creamy FRUIT ICE CREAM to eat immediately without having to wait, which you can serve in individual cups or homemade cones.
Moreover, it is very light because it is made without cream or condensed milk but only yogurt, which not only gives the ice cream the right softness but also allows you to chop the ingredients more easily.
In today’s recipe, I made STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM, but with the same recipe, you can create all the fruit ice creams you want (you’ll find suggestions for other mixed flavors in the Notes at the end of the recipe) like blueberries and blackberries, banana and mango, peach and apricot, and so on.
The only precaution will be to clean the fruit and cut it into small pieces before putting it in the freezer to have an optimal yield and not to “overwork” the immersion blender, and you will get creamy fruit-flavored ice creams with a smooth and velvety texture.
Then, if you wish, you can garnish the ice cream with various toppings of your choice like meringues, hazelnut crunch, whipped cream, cookies, while for those more conscious of their diet, just a little fresh fruit cut into pieces and a few drops of honey will suffice. Obviously, depending on the type of fruit chosen and its ripeness, the ice cream will be more or less sugary.

Ingredients
- 8.8 oz fresh fruit (strawberries, berries, peaches, etc..)
- 8.8 oz Greek yogurt (strained)
- 2.5 oz powdered sugar (optional or honey, erythritol)
Tools
- Mixer
Steps
IMPORTANT NOTE. To prepare the ice cream without an ice cream maker, the fruit must be completely frozen, so it is necessary to leave it in the freezer for at least 7-8 hours. Ideally, do it the night before. The fruit, before being put in the freezer, should be washed, peeled in the case of fruit with skin, and cut into small pieces, then placed in food freezer bags.
Put the still frozen fruit into the food processor or blender along with the powdered sugar and process intermittently to soften the fruits. Then add the yogurt and increase the speed, making sure to open the lid 2-3 times to bring the mixture from the sides to the center with a spatula. Blend until you obtain creamy fruit ice cream.
NOTES
FRUIT: You can use any fruit you prefer, always maintaining the same weight proportions of yogurt and fruit pulp. You can also use pre-packaged frozen fruit found in the frozen section of the supermarket.
SUGAR: If you’re on a controlled diet or diet, you can omit the sugar or replace it with 2 tablespoons of honey or sweetener.
FRUIT ICE CREAM VARIANTS. The most popular fruit ice cream flavors without an ice cream maker are definitely: Strawberry, Berries, Blueberries and Blackberries, Melon, Watermelon, Mango and Lime, Banana and Cocoa Powder (3 bananas + 1 oz cocoa powder), Peach, Apricot, Apricot and Peaches.
STORAGE
If you do not immediately consume the ice cream with frozen fruit without an ice cream maker, put it in the freezer. For about an hour, it will remain creamy, then it tends to harden. It will be sufficient to leave it out of the freezer for about 30 minutes before consuming it again so that it returns to the right consistency. However, this recipe is designed to consume it immediately just after making it because it’s definitely more delicious and airy.
