BASIC BEER BATTER RECIPE FOR FRYING

The beer batter is egg-free, made only with beer and all-purpose flour and does not need resting time. It’s a light and crispy batter especially ideal for vegetables like zucchini flowers, zucchini, and eggplant. It can also be used for battering fish and shellfish. This batter will make any frying light, crispy, and golden.

IMPORTANT: THE BEER MUST BE COLD so that it creates a thermal shock when it comes into contact with oil, making the frying crispy.

For this recipe, I used ERDINGER Brauhaus Helles beer contained in the Degustabox of the month of July.

Adriana’s Advice

Depending on the recipe you need to make, you might need a thinner batter or a thicker batter that sticks and seals the ingredient. So you can increase or decrease the amount of beer.
