INGREDIENTS BREADCRUMBS 4 WAYS
- 3.5 oz stale bread
- to taste bay leaf
Tools
- 1 Air fryer
PREPARATION BREADCRUMBS 4 WAYS
With stale bread. Cut the bread into pieces, place it in the air fryer basket for 3 minutes at 374°F and then blend with a kitchen mixer at maximum power. In just a few minutes you’ll have quite fine and dry breadcrumbs. Any type of bread is fine.
With fresh bread. Cut the bread into coarse pieces, place it in the air fryer basket for 10 minutes at 374°F (depending on the size of the pieces) and then blend with a kitchen mixer at maximum power. Any type of bread is fine.
Prepare the panko. Panko is nothing more than flake breadcrumbs and can be made using sandwich bread. Simply remove the crust, chop the bread in a mixer until you get coarse crumbs, then place everything on a baking sheet or always in the air fryer basket (on parchment paper) and bake until golden. Panko, when in contact with oil, puffs up: the fats slide off and the frying is lighter and crispier.
Homemade breadcrumbs can also be flavored: You can choose your preferred spices: thyme, rosemary, paprika, or curry. In this way, you’ll have different combinations to pair with various recipes.
Adriana’s Tip
The breadcrumbs must be completely cold before storing, preferably in an airtight glass jar. Before sealing, place a dried bay leaf inside; it will prevent the formation of mold and insects.
