Today I propose a cocktail or rather a particular drink to enjoy, together with your friends, during the Christmas holidays: Christmas Sangria or winter sangria. It doesn’t differ much from the summer sangria except for the presence of peaches which will be replaced with other seasonal fruits such as pears, apples, oranges, and mandarins.
The extra touch is given by the presence of spices: together with cinnamon we will also add star anise. What is very important is certainly the wine which must not only be of excellent quality, but also suitable for this kind of preparation. For this winter version choose a red wine that is lighter and not too full-bodied.
Very easy to prepare, but perfect for the Christmas and New Year’s aperitif. It may remind you a bit of mulled wine in taste. Perfect to serve as a cocktail, as an aperitif, or to accompany desserts.

Adriana’s Advice
If you prefer, you can also add a vanilla bean which will give a sweeter taste to the drink.
