Quick Savory Christmas Balls Appetizer

Calling this quick savory Christmas balls appetizer a recipe would be a lie; let’s call it a clever little idea for making cute and tasty finger food, even though I don’t like associating cleverness with cooking!

I used pretzel sticks, but we can use a breadstick, I added a mix of crushed nuts to wrap and seal the quick savory Christmas balls appetizer, but you could add chopped cranberries and other dried fruits like small apricot pieces, and I must say they go perfectly, try them!

It’s mandatory to make these cheese Christmas ball finger foods in advance because, left in the fridge and covered with cling film, they have a chance to firm up and will be very pleasant when tasted.

P.S. I used only one pack of goat cheese because, as those who kindly follow me know, my family is small, and I don’t want to waste food or feel compelled to eat!

FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE RECIPE🤔QUICK SAVORY CHRISTMAS BALLS APPETIZER

  • Put on single-use food gloves because without them, dealing with the goat cheese becomes a VERY unhygienic mess!

Then in a small bowl, I put the goat cheese and season it with salt and pepper.

If you want, add a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil; I didn’t, but it fits!

  • Then I form balls (wearing single-use food gloves) with my 80 grams pack; I made 6, but I didn’t weigh them, sorry!

In a plate, I put the MIXED crushed nuts of my choice and gently try to coat the Christmas cheese finger food balls.

  • Wash and dry some chive stems and make a bow … You can make a real bow using a piece of pretzel as a base for the knot or overlap 1 1/2 inches of chive pieces and then stick them into the quick Christmas appetizer ball using the breadstick as a pin …

When ready to taste the appetizer and serve it, place each Christmas savory ball on a cracker, making it much more convenient and clean to eat!

I don’t know… it seems confusing when you read back, but I know you got it, right???

END of the recipe… the Christmas savory cheese balls are ready to be placed in the fridge to firm up until it’s time to serve them on a cracker as mentioned above!

    TASTY AND VERY CUTE, RIGHT???

    Enjoy your meal! Annalisa

Add pickled vegetables, cheeses, cold cuts, vegetables, mozzarella balls, boiled quail eggs…. in short, create it to your liking!

Recipe spotted on Cucina Naturale: you can omit the goat cheese if it’s too strong for your taste and use spreadable cheese, ricotta, or a mix of these.

PLEASE REMEMBER: leave the savory Christmas balls in the fridge to firm up before serving them at the table. Put the “stem” in just before serving because it becomes soggy and unappetizing!
