Restlessly scouring the web, I found here these snowman cookies and thought of featuring them on the blog. Soon, I will make them with my niece Mia, who is passionate about cooking and excellent at making fresh pasta!

Clearly, they are decorated with edible markers for nose and mouth, chocolate cream for the eyes and skeletal arms, while the colorful candies are the ever-popular Smarties among young ones.

SNOWMAN COOKIES

Snowman Cookies
  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Cost: Very Cheap
  • Rest time: 30 Minutes
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 10 snowman cookies
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian

INGREDIENTS FOR SNOWMAN COOKIE RECIPE

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup potato starch
  • 1 1/4 sticks butter
  • 1 to taste organic lemon zest (or untreated)
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • to taste water
  • 1 drop lemon juice (or orange)
  • to taste marshmallows
  • edible markers
  • to taste chocolate cream
  • to taste smarties

FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE SNOWMAN COOKIE RECIPE

  • For the basic cookie dough, mix the flour, potato starch with the powdered sugar.

Then add the egg yolks and butter cut into pieces, mixing everything together.

Form a dough, wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

  • After resting, place the shortcrust pastry between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out with a rolling pin to a thickness not too thin nor too thick.

Using a 3-inch diameter cookie cutter, cut out many circles and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 7-8 minutes or according to your appliance’s characteristics.

  • After baking, allow them to cool completely, perhaps on a wire rack.

  • Then prepare the icing by mixing a small amount of water with powdered sugar and a small amount of lemon juice in a bowl, stirring vigorously with a spoon.

It should be fluid but well covering, so dose it carefully!

  • Now put the icing in a piping bag and trace a messy outline close to the “head” as if the snowman is melting…

Immediately attach the marshmallow and the colorful candies, then let it solidify before drawing the skinny arms with chocolate cream or an edible pen.

  • Continue until the ingredients are used up and serve…

Kids will love the snowman cookies and you will taste how delicious this shortcrust is!!!!!!!

    Bon appétit!
