Ingredients

For the Toast with Hummus and Tuna

  • 1 can cooked chickpeas
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste turmeric
  • to taste sweet paprika
  • to taste chopped parsley
  • 2 slices rye bread
  • 1 can tuna
  • to taste chives
  • to taste fresh mint leaves

Tools

  • Grill Pan
  • Pitcher
  • Immersion Blender

Steps

To make the Toast with Hummus and Tuna

  • First, start by opening the can of cooked chickpeas and draining them completely of their water using a strainer or pasta colander.

  • Next, take a tall pitcher, like a beaker, and put the drained chickpeas inside along with the oil, lemon juice, turmeric, paprika, and parsley.

  • At this point, take the immersion blender and activate it inside the pitcher until you form a smooth cream. Essentially, by doing this, you have already created the hummus.

  • Next, heat the electric grill pan and once it reaches temperature, toast the slices of rye bread on both sides until dark stripes appear.

  • To finish, spread a generous amount of hummus directly on the slice of bread to cover it completely using a spatula.

  • Finally, garnish the surface with drained canned tuna, chives, fresh mint, and a drizzle of raw oil! Now you can finally serve your toasts.

Tip!

You can also use an alternative bread, for example, multigrain bread.
