Ingredients
- 1 Fuji apple
- 1 tablespoon chestnut jam
- 1 roll puff pastry (rectangular)
- as needed milk (for brushing)
- 1 teaspoon raw cane brown sugar
Tools
- 1 Small bowl
- 1 Knife
- 1 Cutting board
- 1 Spoon
- 1 Baking sheet
- 1 Parchment paper
- 1 Brush
- 1 Fork
Steps
To make the apple turnovers with chestnut jam, first peel the apple and remove the core. Cut it into cubes and, in a small bowl, mix it with the chestnut jam and let it rest for a few moments.
Meanwhile, cut the puff pastry into rectangles of similar size and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place part of the filling on one side. Cut the free part as shown in the photo and close the turnover, sealing the edges with the tines of a fork.
Brush with milk and garnish the surface of the pastry with the raw cane brown sugar.
Bake in the middle of a preheated oven at 356°F (convection) for 25 minutes or until fully golden. Remove and let cool slightly before enjoying. The turnovers will remain delicious and crisp if stored in paper bags or in jars with an airtight lid, away from light and heat sources.
