Christmas Phyllo Fans, a delightful and easy idea to make in just a few simple steps and with very little cooking. This recipe is perfect as a centerpiece or a tasty place card for Christmas celebrations. To make this recipe even more festive, I used sugar decorations with Christmas designs, but you can easily replace them with various types of sprinkles, even mixed ones. The same rule applies to chocolate: use whatever you prefer, even making cute streaks. I chose dark chocolate that I love, while for the garnish, I chose delicious and colorful sugar stars that can be found online or in well-stocked supermarkets. Below, I leave you some of my favorite sweet Christmas recipes, while at the end of the recipe, I answer some of the most common questions.

Ingredients
- 4 sheets phyllo dough
- 1.76 oz butter (melted)
- 1.76 oz 60% dark chocolate
- to taste glittery sugars
Tools
- 1 Small bowl
- 1 Microwave
- 1 Brush
- Toothpick
- Parchment paper
Steps
To make the phyllo fans, first cut the phyllo sheets to a size of 4 by 5.5 inches. You’ll need 18. Brush each sheet with butter. I recommend doing one pair at a time to prevent the butter from drying the sheet. Stack two sheets.
Fold each pair of sheets as shown in the picture, alternating open and closed folds. Secure the base with a toothpick and open the folds fan-wise.
Finish the ingredients and bake the fans in the oven at 356°F for 10 minutes or until they dry out and turn golden. Let them cool.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave for 90 seconds at 800w.
Once ready, stir it and dip the open part of the fan into it.
Decorate with sprinkles and let everything cool at room temperature.
Prepare the fans a few hours in advance and store them in airtight containers. They are also delightful and crunchy Christmas gifts once packed in food bags.
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Can I use puff pastry for this recipe?
No, I strongly advise against it because the fan shape would not hold with this ingredient.
