Pork Steak with Red Onions

Pork steak with red onions, a tasty, easy, and quick recipe to prepare even at the last minute.

However, it’s also ideal to prepare in advance by marinating the meat in an emulsion of oil, wine, and salt to make it even more tender and flavorful.

The peculiarity of this recipe is the addition of red onions.

As always, being my favorite raw and cooked, I had bought them in large quantities and why not use them as a complementary ingredient in a recipe?

Ingredients

  • 4 pork steaks
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 red onions
  • to taste all-purpose flour
  • 5 oz dry white wine

Steps

  • To make the Pork Steak with Red Onions, first thinly slice the onion after removing the skin.

    In a large pan, pour the oil, heat it for a minute, and add the sliced onion.

    Stir occasionally and cook for 5 minutes on low heat.

    This process will make it more digestible.

  • After this time, the onions will have softened.

    Meanwhile, coat the pork steaks in the flour and place them in the pan.

    Brown them for one minute on each side.

    Deglaze with white wine and add salt.

    Cover with a lid.

    Remember to turn them occasionally, continuing to cook on low heat.

    If the sauce dries out too much, you can add half a glass of water, preferably hot.

  • When the meat is nicely browned, it will take about 20 minutes in total, turn off the heat and serve the dish hot, accompanied by red onions and cooking juices.
