Savory puff pastry croissants, an easy and tasty appetizer, perfect to serve on any occasion and very quick to make.
Puff pastry is a very versatile ingredient that I use whenever I want to impress but don’t have much time to spend in the kitchen.
And for making appetizers, I personally find it very suitable.
Soon I will try to make my own homemade version, but of course, you can easily buy the commercial one.
To make the croissants, my advice is to use round puff pastry, ideal for dividing into wedges, as in my case.
For the final garnish, you can use either extra virgin olive oil or egg and seeds to your liking.
Below, I leave you some easy ideas to make with puff pastry to create delicious appetizers.

- to taste mozzarella (about 3.5 oz, drained)
- to taste extra virgin olive oil (for brushing)
- to taste flax seeds
Tools
- 1 Cutter Wheel
- 1 Baking Tray
- 1 Strainer
- 1 Knife
- 1 Cutting Board
- 1 Oven Tray
- Parchment Paper
Steps
To make the Savory Puff Pastry Croissants, first cut mozzarella into small cubes and let it drain in a strainer or small colander.
Roll out the puff pastry on a base and cut it into 16 wedges, first dividing the circle in half and then further dividing them.
On each wedge, place first a piece of cooked ham, then the mozzarella cube.
Finally, after filling all the wedges, roll them up to form the croissants.
Place them on a baking tray with parchment paper, distribute a bit of oil on the surface, and finally garnish with flax seeds.
Bake in a preheated convection oven at 400°F for 25 minutes.
Let cool slightly before serving.
Have fun filling the croissants as you prefer. You can prepare them in advance and store them for 24 hours in an airtight container.
