  • 7 oz champignon mushrooms (cooked, cleaned)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (for cooking mushrooms)
  • 1 pinch fine salt
  • 3.5 oz Asiago cheese (in slices)
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil (to brush)
  • to taste mixed seeds

Tools

  • 1 Pan
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Baking tray
  • 1 Parchment paper

Steps

  • To make the Savory Tree with Pesto and Cooked Ham, first, let’s focus on cooking the mushrooms.

Clean them by removing the stem and wiping the surface with a damp cloth, then slice them thinly.

Cook for 10 minutes in a pan with a drizzle of oil, stirring occasionally and adding salt in the last minute of cooking.

    Let cool slightly.

Meanwhile, cut the two Christmas trees from the puff pastry bases, as shown in the picture.

  • Start filling the base after placing it in a large baking tray covered with parchment paper.

Spread a thin layer of pesto, leaving the edges free. Add slices of cooked ham and the mushrooms previously cooked in the pan.

    Add the sliced cheese.

Cover with the remaining puff pastry and seal it with the tines of a fork at the base after aligning them well.

  • Starting from the wide part of the tree, cut strips of similar width up to the middle of the base.

    Roll each strip onto itself.

Cut the decorations, filling the larger ones.

  • Brush the surface of the tree with a little extra virgin olive oil and decorate with mixed seeds.

  • Bake in a preheated fan oven at 392°F (200°C) for 20-22 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
