Sweet puff pastry tomb, a simple and tasty dessert perfect for Halloween, ideal for both adults and kids.
The simplicity wins in this recipe, I admit it.
And to create this fake tomb with broken planks is the only requirement you need.
Halloween is not one of those holidays that drive me crazy, but considering that I have three children who grew up during the “Boom” of this occasion, I had to put on a brave face.
And I’ve always made them happy with my ideas made with very little effort.
Below I leave you some of my small ideas to do together with your kids or perfect for a party to spend in company.
- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Very cheap
- Rest time: 15 Minutes
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 8 servings
- Cooking methods: Electric oven
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Autumn
Ingredients
- 1 roll puff pastry
- 200 g cow's milk ricotta
- 2 tbsp mixed berry jam (or another dark jam)
- 1 egg yolk (for brushing)
- 30 g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 30 g powdered sugar
Tools
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Spoon
- 1 Loaf Pan
- 1 Pastry Wheel
Steps
To make the Sweet Puff Pastry Tomb, in a bowl work the well-drained ricotta with the mixed berry jam, unsweetened cocoa powder, and powdered sugar.
To create the base of the “tomb,” use a loaf pan, cutting the appropriate size to hold the filling, as shown in the photo.
From the remaining pastry, cut strips to complete the dessert.
Brush the surface with egg yolk and bake in a preheated fan oven at 356°F for 30 minutes.
Once cooled, decorate the cake with fake eyes, preferably edible.
They can be found for sale online or in well-stocked retail stores.
And now, let the party begin.
Storage
My advice is to keep the dessert covered and undecorated, in the refrigerator until serving, once it has cooled down well.
It keeps in the fridge for up to 48 hours.
FAQ
What can I substitute for puff pastry?
