Turmeric herbal tea with black pepper and honey, a delicious infusion, perfect for combating seasonal ailments with three rather common ingredients found in our pantries. Turmeric is now a product I often use in the kitchen, to enrich soups and meats, but you often find it in some of my pasta dishes. Honey is now indispensable, especially in winter, to enrich my hot drinks. And, in this recipe, we have the addition of black pepper which will help our body absorb the turmeric. Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey (plentiful)

Steps

  • To make the Turmeric Herbal Tea with Black Pepper and Honey in a small pot, add the turmeric to the water. Stir.

  • Add the honey and let it melt. Finally, add a pinch of black pepper and continue stirring.

  • Proceed to cook the tea over low heat, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer for two minutes. As you will notice, the water will become darker. Turn off the heat and cover with a clean towel or cloth. Let it rest for 5 minutes.

  • Drink the tea hot or warm (I enjoyed it cold and it was still delicious!!) or prepare it in advance and reheat it when desired.
