The ORANGE BREAD CAKE is the delicious recipe prepared today on TV on Channel 10, the Sicilian cake made by blending a whole orange, not only using the zest and juice but also the pulp.
The Orange Bread will surprise you with its aroma, softness, and how delicious it is!
This Sicilian cake with whole orange in the batter is already present here on my blog in the version where everything is blended, not just the orange but also the rest of the ingredients. I decided to remake this recipe on my cooking show because I find it incredibly good and also because it is a perfect dessert for this season.
It’s very important to use a nice untreated orange to make this cake precisely because we also use the zest.
From this year all recipes made on TV will also be published on my blog, so it will be easier for you to find the recipe and make it.

- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Very economical
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 9.5-inch pan
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 1 orange (large untreated)
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 7 tbsp sunflower oil
- 1/3 cup milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
Steps
To prepare the Orange Bread Cake, start with the orange, wash it well, cut it into four parts, remove any seeds, and blend it with the 250 g of sugar to obtain a puree.
In a large bowl, crack the three eggs, add the orange puree, and start mixing everything with electric whisks, pour in the oil and milk in a stream while continuing to mix.
Sift the flour and baking powder into the mixture, then continue mixing with the whisks until you have a smooth, creamy batter without lumps.
Pour the batter into a greased and floured or parchment-lined cake pan, level the batter in the pan, and bake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for about 45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Once baked and cooled, you can serve the Orange Bread Cake with powdered sugar and orange slices on top.
.. Vane’s tips
The cake keeps for 5 days under a cake dome, better stored in the fridge from the third day onwards.
You can add chocolate chips to the batter or cover it with chocolate glaze before serving.
