TASTY CHICKEN WRAP

The TASTY CHICKEN WRAPS is an easy and quick recipe to prepare a rich and delicious main dish. Soft sheets similar to stuffed flatbreads, Wraps are perfect to prepare and bring to the table, especially if you want something tasty to eat, customizable as you like, they are always a hit at the table!

Every time I create a new filling, this time I prepared the Tasty Chicken Wraps with AIA CHICKEN SALAD, the Aia sliced chicken breast that you can use to make tasty salads, main dishes, or as I did, to stuff delicious Wraps.

The AIA CHICKEN SALAD is very simple to prepare, just sauté it in a pan with a little oil for five minutes and it’s ready to eat. I added grilled vegetables and salad to stuff my homemade Wraps, a true success at the table! Follow me in the recipe, let’s prepare this delicious recipe together!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 tbsp olive oil (sunflower oil also works)
  • 1/2 cup water (at room temperature)
  • 1 tsp fine salt
  • 1 package AIA CHICKEN SALAD
  • as needed mixed salad
  • 1 zucchini
  • 1 eggplant
  • as needed extra virgin olive oil
  • as needed salt

Steps

  • Start by pouring the water and oil into a bowl, mix with a fork, add the salt, and mix again. Gradually add the flour and knead first with the fork, then with your hands.

  • Now work the dough on the table, shaping it into a loaf when it feels smooth and homogeneous. Wrap the loaf in plastic wrap and let it rest for about half an hour. Take the loaf, divide it into 4 equal pieces, weighing about 3.5 oz each, and roll each piece into a thin round sheet about 7-8 inches in diameter.

  • Once all the dough disks are made, heat a flat and wide non-stick pan and cook the bases one at a time over medium flame, flipping them a couple of times, about one or two minutes per side. Remove the flatbreads from the heat and place them on a plate.

  • Take the zucchini and eggplant, slice them thinly, and grill them on a hot griddle. Then season the vegetables with oil and salt and set aside.

    In a pan, pour two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, heat it, then add the Aia Chicken Salad, and cook for 5 minutes, turning it a couple of times.

  • Take the dough bases, fill each one with a bit of salad, grilled vegetables, and Aia Chicken Salad in the center, drizzle with a little oil, and if you like, a pinch of pepper. Close the Wraps by folding the base and rolling the bread. The Tasty Chicken Wraps are ready to be served at the table, and you can also add a sauce to the Wrap filling if you like.

… Vane’s tips

You can also prepare the flatbread bases in advance the day before; they keep for three days sealed in a plastic food bag.

You can also add other grilled vegetables, like peppers.

If you like, add yogurt sauce or mayonnaise to the filling.
