APPLE FRITTERS
- 2 apples
- 1 lemon
- 2 eggs
- 1.5 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 shot glass liqueur
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1.5 cups flour
- to taste ground cinnamon
- lemon zest
- as needed peanut oil
- to taste powdered sugar
Steps
To prepare these very simple apple fritters, first peel and cut the apples into pieces, add the lemon juice, take 30 grams (2 tablespoons) of sugar from the total and sprinkle it over the apples.
Let the apples rest for a few minutes and in the meantime, prepare the batter.
In a bowl, crack the eggs, beat them with the remaining sugar, add the oil, liqueur, lemon zest, and finally, the sifted flour with baking powder. Pour the apples into the mixture, mix well. If the batter is too liquid, add some flour; if it’s too dry, add a bit of milk.
Heat the oil to the right temperature and fry the fritters by scooping them up with two spoons.
They will take about 3/4 minutes to cook, depending on their size.
Let the fritters dry on absorbent paper and sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
