APRICOT AND APPLE PASTRIES

These apricot and apple pastries are deliciously fragrant. A layer of puff pastry covered with a thin layer of orange marmalade and topped with apple and apricot slices makes for a quick breakfast treat. They’re very easy to prepare, just the time it takes to heat the oven and you will have them ready and placed on the tray. 😋

Of course, you can use homemade puff pastry, my fake puff pastry, or ready-made rolls from the supermarket… the result is the same 🤤

APRICOT AND APPLE PASTRIES

  • 1 roll puff pastry (Rectangular)
  • 1.8 oz orange marmalade
  • 6 apricots
  • 1 apple
  • to taste honey

Steps

  • Apricot and Apple Pastries
  • Unroll the puff pastry on the table and cut it into eight rectangles using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter.

    Wash and slice the apricots.

Peel the apples, remove the core, and slice them about 1/4 inch thick.

Place the pastry rectangles on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, keeping them spaced apart.

The trick for tasty and juicy pastries is to spread some orange marmalade in the center of the rectangle, avoiding the edges. Of course, apricot, peach, or any flavor you prefer works too.

Arrange the apple slices and apricot slices slightly overlapping on the pastry to cover the jam.

Bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F/365°F for about 18/20 minutes. If necessary, in the last 5 minutes of baking, move the tray one rack higher in the oven to make the pastries golden brown.

Remove from the oven and brush with some honey.

STORAGE

You can store the prepared fruit pastries this way for 2-3 days in an airtight container.

Puff pastry doesn’t like moisture, so they will definitely be tastier right after baking 😋
