HEART-SHAPED SAUSAGES
- 2 sausages
- 2 eggs
- as needed extra virgin olive oil
- as needed salt
Steps
Cut 2 sausages lengthwise, but do not halve them completely. Twist the cut parts, match the ends, and secure them with toothpicks. You will have 2 heart-shaped sausages.
Heat a small amount of extra virgin olive oil in a non-stick pan and place the two heart-shaped sausages inside.
Sauté on low heat for 3-4 minutes on each side.
Pour an egg into each heart. If you like, you can separate the yolks from the whites first and cook the whites so they solidify perfectly before adding the yolks.
Personally, I like them with the yolk fully cooked, so I added the whole egg at once.
Season with salt halfway through cooking and flip to the other side. Once cooked, place on a serving plate and serve immediately 😋
