Chocolate Brownie by the Spoon in the Air Fryer

The chocolate brownie by the spoon in the air fryer is a super quick dessert, prepared in just a few minutes and baked in only 15 minutes, ideal when you crave something tasty without waiting too long. With a melting and creamy center, this chocolate brownie is eaten straight by the spoon! If you have very ripe bananas that are about to be thrown away, this is the perfect recipe to turn them into something decadent and irresistible.

Baking in the air fryer or in the oven is super fast and gives a truly special texture: the outside firms up slightly while the inside remains incredibly soft, creamy and melting, so much that you can eat it directly with a spoon. The best results are appreciated when it’s still warm or slightly warm, because the center stays enveloping and gooey. You can also eat it cold from the fridge, and the texture will be like a pudding with an even more intense and delicious flavor.

It’s important to emphasize that, even though the inside is so creamy, this is absolutely not a “raw” dessert. The recipe does not use regular flour but oat flour, an ingredient that can be safely consumed raw (for example mixed into yogurt). Also, there are no eggs, so there are no ingredients that would require mandatory cooking.

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas
  • 3 oz (about 2/3 cup) oat flour
  • 6 fl oz (3/4 cup) milk
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Half teaspoon baking powder (or a pinch of baking soda)
  • to taste dark chocolate chips

Steps

  • Mash the bananas until you create a puree. Add the oat flour, the cocoa, the milk and the baking powder. Mix everything well and add the chocolate chips.

  • Bake in the air fryer at about 356°F for around 13-14 minutes or in the oven at 374°F for about 20-22 minutes. Once ready, let it cool for about ten minutes.

    Serve it by the spoon while still warm: inside it will be gooey and creamy. If you chill it in the fridge, you’ll get a pudding-like creamy texture. It’s great either way. Enjoy!

Vale’s Tips

Substitutions: you can use plant-based milk or the beverage you prefer. For the flour, as an alternative to oat flour you can use almond flour. Flours that require cooking such as wheat or rice flours are absolutely not recommended.
