Chocolate chip fritters are a simple and tasty idea for a delicious treat to make at Carnival, but honestly good all year round.
They don’t have the consistency of castagnole or similar things. The taste gives the sensation of eating pieces of fried cake.
Anyway, for a quick try at making a snack, an excellent result in my opinion, then chocolate was a must.
When frying, be careful with the oil temperature because with chocolate, it tends to dirty the oil after frying a few fritters, but with a little attention, the result will be guaranteed.
Simple and quick dough, frying won’t take long, so what are you waiting for to make them?
They can be stored for the next day, although it’s not the same, but I assure you they will still be good.
Once cooked, just drain them on paper towels and roll them in sugar, they will be super special!!!
Try this recipe too, and if you make this or any other of my recipes, send me the photos, and I will publish them on my page with your name.

- zest of 1 lemon
- 1/4 cup sunflower oil (or corn oil)
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- sunflower oil (or corn oil for frying)
- 1/2 cup sugar
Preparation of Chocolate Chip Fritters
In the mixer, place the eggs with the sugar and mix at high speed for a few minutes.
Then slowly add the other ingredients one at a time at low speed, finishing with the flour and finally the chocolate chips.
Prepare a pot with oil for frying and heat it up. Once the temperature is reached, drop the batter into the oil with the help of two teaspoons and fry the fritters over medium heat, keeping it under control.
Once fried, drain them on paper towels and roll them in sugar.
Enjoy them preferably hot, but they are also good after cooling.
