Christmas Cookies

Christmas cookies are really simple and suitable for breakfast and snack during the Christmas holidays.
Very easy to make, just get Christmas-themed cookie cutters similar to mine.
If stored in a tin box or a plastic bag, they will keep well for several days.
I made them simply, but they can be paired and filled with Nutella or jam as desired.
They are quick to make and bake, then flavored with cinnamon, I’m sure you will like them!!!
Let’s say that what takes us more time is the icing, I made them with my son, I’m not very good with decorations, but I’m happy with the outcome.
Bon appétit!
If you make this or other recipes on my blog, send me the photo, if you like, I will put it on my fb page in your name.

Preparation of Christmas Cookies

  • In the stand mixer, place the softened butter, sugar, honey, and mix at medium speed, then add the cinnamon, baking powder, egg, cornstarch, and flour a little at a time, mixing as much as possible with the mixer, then finish working on a work surface.
We should obtain a soft but not sticky dough that can be modeled.
It can also be made without the mixer by mixing everything by hand.
Once the dough ball is made, wrap it in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Roll out a not too thin sheet, about 1/8 inch, and cut the cookies with the Christmas cookie cutters you have available, place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes, checking the baking.

  • When baking is complete, let them cool well, then prepare the icing for decoration, at first it will be all white, then divide it into separate glasses the amounts we will color in other colors and add the desired food colors for decoration.

  • Each colored glaze, in this case (for me) put it in separate piping bags and decorate the cookies.
Once the decoration is done, let the icing solidify for about 1 hour, then they will be ready to serve.
