Fake calzones without yeast

Fake calzones without yeast are a super indulgent recipe to prepare without the need for rising and too much attention.

A fairly soft dough, so it should be worked on an always floured work surface, but the result is really excellent.

I made them big, but when I make them again, I will definitely make them in a smaller size.

In this recipe, I fried them, but they can also be baked in the oven.

The only waiting time is to let the dough cool for at least half an hour in the fridge, but everything else is quick.

I filled them with sausage meat, but they can be filled with tuna or with pre-cooked small-cut potatoes, in short, you can get creative.

If you make any of my recipes, send me the photos, and I will publish them on my page with your name.

  • cups whole milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour + some for the work surface
  • 3 tbsps butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 9 oz sausage meat
  • oz smoked provola cheese

Preparation of Fake calzones without yeast

  • Put the milk in a saucepan, heat it, and when bubbles start to appear, turn it off, add the flour, butter, salt and mix well.

  • Create a well-mixed dough, then put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to cool.

Turn the dough over onto a floured surface…

  • ….take pieces of dough, roll them out to create a sort of mini-pizza, fill with sausage and diced provola, close by sealing the edges well, trimming the dough.

  • Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper… I made 8, but if made smaller, you can easily make 16.

  • Prepare the pan with 2 fingers of sunflower or corn oil, they should not be immersed in the oil. Heat and once it reaches the temperature, cook the calzones over medium-low heat, once cooked drain them on absorbent paper.

They will be slightly crispy on the surface and soft inside.

If you decide to bake them, put them in the oven at 392°F for about 15 minutes, checking the cooking.

    Preferably consume hot.
