Little peaches are always found everywhere in Abruzzo, there is no particular occasion or celebration where they are not prepared.
There isn’t a communion, birthday, or any other occasion’s refreshment where little peaches aren’t made. They are truly delicious, and you must make and try this specialty at least once.
These cookies are delicious even dry without filling, to be enjoyed at breakfast or snack time.
The dry cookies are soaked in alchermes, then spread with Nutella and paired to form the typical Abruzzo little peach.
So follow my recipe also looking at the photos, which can sometimes be helpful, and you’ll see what a success it will be, but be careful not to get carried away, you might end up eating them all at once!
If you make this or other recipes from my blog, feel free to send me your photos, and I will post them on my Facebook page under your name.

- 4 3/4 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Sugar

Preparation of Little Peaches
Combine all the ingredients and once the dough is smooth enough, pour it onto a floured work surface and knead until it becomes a well-blended dough like gnocchi.
At this point, line a baking tray with parchment paper and form balls smaller than a walnut, placing them on the tray.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350 °F for about 20 minutes; they should be slightly colored for a good bake.
Once cooled, quickly dip them in alchermes, then drain them, pair them two by two, filling with Nutella, and roll them in sugar.
If you want to present them nicely, put them in paper cups.
They keep for several days.
