Milk Rolls for Buffet

Milk rolls for buffet are very simple to make, the only downside, like all leavened products, is the slightly long rising time.
They are great for use at birthday parties, buffets, and parties in general.
You can also enjoy them plain, they will be delicious.
I made them a bit long, but you can always stretch them into a narrower tongue during preparation and you will have shorter ones.
These rolls remain soft even for 3-4 days. I’m sure that once you try my recipe, you’ll bring it out for every occasion.
The total preparation will take about 3 hours, considering all the rising times, but if you’re a fan like me of leavened recipes, I’m sure you’ll tackle the recipe!
So let’s get to work and make the super soft milk rolls for buffet following the step-by-step photos, and if you have any doubts, leave me a message.

  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Cost: Medium
  • Preparation time: 3 Hours
  • Portions: 20 rolls
  • Cooking methods: Electric oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients to make the Milk Rolls for Buffet

  • 3.84 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp fresh yeast
  • 1.5 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 2 oz Butter
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Whole milk

Preparation of the Milk Rolls for Buffet

  • In a bowl, put the milk with the fresh yeast and let it dissolve, then add half of the flour, the salt, and mix well.
Next, add sugar, softened butter, and the remaining flour.
At this point, form a ball and let it rise in a warm place for about 2 hours or until doubled.

  • Once risen, place the dough on a work surface and divide it into 20 equal balls, each weighing about 1.4 oz. Stretch each ball into a tongue shape with a rolling pin and then roll it up.

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the rolls spaced apart, letting them rise in a warm place for about 1 hour (you will need to adjust depending on how they rise).
After rising, put the warm milk in a glass and brush the rolls.

  • Bake in a preheated oven for about 20 minutes at 392°F.
Once baked, let them cool well, fill them as desired or enjoy them plain. If you want, you can store them for 3-4 days well sealed in plastic bags.
