The savory pie with chicory and sausage is a recipe I made for a simple and quick dinner to leave for my children and husband on an evening I was out with my friends.
The result was that everyone found it delicious… … luckily, otherwise, I would have had some criticism upon my return!!!
This recipe is really suitable for a last-minute dinner and when you’re out of ideas!!!
You can also reheat it the next day if you have a piece left over, it will be just as good.
So make it yourself and see how good it is!!!

Ingredients to Make the Savory Pie with Chicory and Sausage
- 1 roll Puff Pastry (rectangular)
- 6.35 oz Sausage (without casing)
- 1.1 lbs Chicory (already boiled)
- 3 Eggs (medium)
- Salt (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
- 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1.06 oz Parmigiano Reggiano (grated)
- 1.76 oz Mozzarella
Preparation of the Savory Pie with Chicory and Sausage
First, take the chicory, clean it, and boil it.
In a pan, put the extra virgin olive oil and the peeled garlic cloves and let them brown for a few minutes, then add the already boiled chicory and sausage pieces, season with salt, pepper and let it cook for a few minutes.
Take a baking pan and place the puff pastry so that the pastry rises on the edges by a couple of fingers and prick it.
In a bowl, beat the eggs, add the parmigiano and mix, add the chicory with the cooked sausage and mix well.Pour the mixture onto the puff pastry and spread it evenly across the surface.
The edges of the puff pastry that are left over, fold them inside the pie for a more presentable finish.
Add the mozzarella pieces over the entire pie, heat the oven to 392°F and bake in a hot oven for at least 20 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven and serve hot or cold.
