Stuffed Puff Pastry Christmas Trees

Stuffed puff pastry Christmas trees are a cute idea for Christmas, even at the last minute.
As you know, I am not a big fan of puff pastry, I prefer leavened dough, but for these things, puff pastry is better, more controllable in thickness and does not need to rise.
I made these sweets with a tree-shaped cutter, but if you don’t have this shape, you can make stars, for example.
Sure, with the nutella and the puff pastry no less, there are definitely a lot of calories, but at Christmas, with everything going on, it’s really hard to control food.
What do you think, did you like the idea? Then make them by following the recipe!
If you make this or any of my other recipes, send me the photos and I will post them on my page with your name.

Stuffed Puff Pastry Christmas Trees
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Medium
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 21 trees
  • Cooking methods: Electric oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Christmas

Ingredients to make Stuffed Puff Pastry Christmas Trees

  • 2 rolls puff pastry (rectangular)
  • 3.5 oz Nutella®
  • green sugar balls
  • edible glue
  • 21 toothpicks
  • 1 egg yolk
  • a little water

Tools

  • 1 Cutter Tree-shaped cutter

Preparation of Stuffed Puff Pastry Christmas Trees

  • Unroll the first roll of puff pastry, spread the Nutella over the entire surface, unroll the second roll and place it on the Nutella.

  • Use the tree-shaped cutter to make shapes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper… if you place them correctly, trying not to leave too much space between one shape and another, you will have very few scraps.
With the leftover trimmings, I made all pieces and placed them on another baking sheet and baked them.
Brush the trees with the egg yolk and a drop of water mixture, then bake them in a preheated oven at 392°F for about 10 minutes.

  • Once removed from the oven and slightly cooled, decorate them by placing the green sugar balls using the edible glue to make them stick and not move.
Insert the base of the trees with toothpicks and our sweets will be ready.
Toothpicks can also be inserted before baking, if desired.
