Sweet Fried Pizzas

Sweet fried pizzas are a treat I’ve been making for a long time, but this time I optimized the recipe and I assure you they are sure to succeed.

These pancakes are similar to those found at some village festivals, although more often they are savory…both are delicious!!

If you have a birthday party, or want to organize a special snack for your children with their friends, you will be a success!

If you want, you can also make them a little smaller and obviously you will get a greater number of pancakes.

Try making them yourself and if you like, send me the photo, I will put it on my fb page in your name.

Sweet Fried Pizzas Approx. 225 Kcal for each pancake

Sweet Fried Pizzas
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Rest time: 3 Hours
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 18 fried pizzas
  • Cooking methods: Frying
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients for making Sweet Fried Pizzas

  • 1.69 cups Water
  • 3 tbsp Whole milk
  • 1 packet Dry yeast
  • 1.41 oz Sugar
  • 29.3 oz All-purpose flour (+ 1.4 oz for the work surface)
  • 1.35 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
  • Sunflower oil

Preparation of Sweet Fried Pizzas

Take a large bowl, put the warm water and milk, and let the dry yeast dissolve. Then add part of the flour, then the sugar, always mixing, until you add all the planned flour and create a homogeneous and well-worked ball. Once you have a ball, work it with the 1.35 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil and let it rise in a warm place for about 2 hours or until it doubles.

  • Roll the dough into 18 not too thin small pizzas and let them rest for at least half an hour. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a large, somewhat deep pan.

When the oil is hot enough, fry one pancake at a time on both sides, drain it, dry it with paper towels, place it in a bowl, and sprinkle with sugar.

Repeat the operation with each pancake and consume them preferably hot.

My name is Francesca Mele, and "Lo scrigno del buongusto" is the name of my blog. I am a true Abruzzese, and after several years with a cooking website, I decided to start a blog. I have been online for a total of 12 years now, so many of you have known me for a long time! I love cooking and I am neither a chef nor a professional cook; I simply have a passion for cooking, preparing, and inventing new dishes. The recipes you find on my blog are not copied, and even the photos are not downloaded from the internet; they are my own.
