The Valentine’s Day cupcakes are my version to celebrate this special day!!!
They are a sweet chocolate cupcake base and therefore super super delicious for those who love chocolate like me, plus with a themed decoration.
Valentine’s Day is mainly seen as the holiday of lovers, but there is also a religious celebration where in many parts of Italy it is the Patron Saint and celebrated in various village festivals.
I placed them in baking paper containers, but if you want, you can use a silicone muffin mold.
Try making them for your loved one, follow my recipe, and let me know how they turned out!
If you make this recipe, or others from my blog, feel free to send me a photo of your creation. If you like, I will post it on my FB page with your name.

Preparation of Valentine’s Day Cupcakes
To prepare the cupcakes, start by mixing all the dry ingredients in a bowl: the flour, the unsweetened cocoa powder, and finally the baking powder.
Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave and set aside.
With an electric mixer, beat the butter, softened at room temperature, with the sugar, then incorporate the eggs one at a time, still with the mixer, until you get a frothy and firm mixture.
Add the melted dark chocolate, mixing by hand with a spoon. Continue to mix and gradually add the dry ingredients, incorporating them into the batter with circular movements from top to bottom.
When the cupcake batter is smooth, prepare a muffin mold and fill them 3/4 of the way up.
Bake in a preheated oven at 340°F for about 20 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.
Once out of the oven, let them cool well before decorating.
In a tall and narrow container, place the cream, red food coloring, vanilla, and powdered sugar, and whip with an electric beater until the mixture is firm.
Fill a pastry bag with a wide tip and, with circular movements, form whipped cream swirls on top of our Cupcakes.
Store in the fridge due to the cream on the cupcakes.
