The 12 tablespoon apple cake is quick, fluffy like a cloud and prepared without a scale, a delicious dessert in which you can vary the flavors and add other ingredients to taste such as nuts or raisins. The recipe is very simple, it would almost not be necessary to write it because like the 7 jar apple cake, you will see that you will only need a spoon to measure the ingredients.
If you want to enjoy a good apple cake but can’t remember the quantities of ingredients, the 12 tablespoon variant is your recipe. You just need to whisk the eggs and sugar with an electric mixer and add the other ingredients one by one.
It is a delicious, light, and fluffy cake that you can flavor to taste with citrus zest, vanilla, cinnamon, and in a few minutes, your cake will be ready for the oven.

Ingredients
- 12 tablespoons all-purpose flour (heaping)
- 12 tablespoons sugar (level)
- 12 tablespoons milk
- 12 tablespoons peanut oil (or melted and cooled butter)
- 3 medium eggs
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest (grated or orange)
- 3 Golden apples
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons almond flakes
Tools
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Electric whisk
- 1 Cake pan springform, 9.5 inches in diameter
- 1 Spatula
Procedure
Wash the apples, peel them and cut two into thin slices and one into cubes, we will insert it inside the batter.
In a bowl, put the eggs and sugar, whisk everything with an electric whisk until you get a light and frothy mixture.
Add half of the flour (6 tablespoons) mixing from bottom to top with the spatula or a fork then add milk and the remaining flour.
When the mixture is well blended, add the oil, lemon zest, and vanilla, incorporate again mixing the mixture from bottom to top.
The batter is ready, we can add the cubed apple.
Butter and flour a 9.5-inch diameter baking pan, pour in the mixture, arrange the apple slices on the surface, add the almond flakes, and sprinkle with brown sugar (if you like, you can add a little cinnamon).
Bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for about 40/45 minutes. Do the toothpick test to check for doneness; if the surface becomes too dark, cover it with aluminum foil.
Take the 12 tablespoon apple cake out of the oven, let it cool, and serve.
Tips
The 12 tablespoon apple cake keeps for two days at room temperature under a glass dome.
Personally, I prefer to keep it in the refrigerator to have a fresh and aromatic cake that keeps well for 3 or 4 days. Before serving, I leave it at room temperature for 1 hour or heat the portions in the microwave.
