The 5-minute orange cake is a delicious and irresistible dessert perfect for breakfast or a snack, but it is also a delightful base ideal for filling with custard and fresh fruit or whipped cream and strawberries, a quick recipe that will amaze you.

The 5-minute cakes are simple desserts with which you can create many variations, I make it at least once a week and each time I create a different version, they are all extremely versatile and ideal for creating birthday cakes, for Valentine’s Day or Women’s Day.

With the cake batter, you can also prepare muffins, the baking will be even quicker, and you will get soft and delicious treats ideal for children’s birthdays or a buffet, and they will be perfect also as a base for cupcakes.

In my batter, I always use seed oil, but you can easily replace it with butter, you can do the same with the flavors, use what you prefer.

How to replace peanut oil with butter?

Replacing oil with butter is very simple, just consider 20% more, so if the recipe states 100 g of oil, you should replace it with 120 g of melted and slightly cooled butter.

If you love easy and quick desserts, here’s some variation to try:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs (medium)
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 3 oz orange juice
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup peanut oil (or 3 oz of butter)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest (grated)

Tools

  • 2 Bowls
  • 1 Hand whisk
  • 1 Cake pan 9-inch diameter

Procedure

  • First, wash the organic orange, dry it, then grate the zest and squeeze it to obtain the juice.

In a bowl, sift the flour with the baking powder, add the sugar, and mix.

In another bowl, place the eggs, orange juice and zest, milk, oil, and vanilla, and mix everything with a whisk to combine the ingredients well.

  • Pour the liquid ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix with the whisk to obtain a smooth and lump-free batter.

Butter and flour a 9-inch diameter pan.

Pour the mixture into the pan.

  • Bake the cake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for about 30 minutes; baking depends on the oven’s power, do the toothpick test and, if necessary, extend it by a few minutes.

Remove the cake from the oven, let it cool slightly, and place it on a serving plate. Let it cool completely before serving.

The 5-minute orange cake is ready, dust it with powdered sugar and serve.

It is also excellent filled with custard and fresh fruit.
