The puff pastry croissants with apples are delicious and super quick. If you want to offer a treat to your guests but need to make it quickly, these croissants are perfect. I often make them and they disappear in no time! A quick alternative to the classic apple pie or the yogurt cake.
To make them, you will need very few ingredients: a roll of puff pastry, a couple of apples, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Optionally, you can add pine nuts and raisins. In a few minutes, you will create delicious treats with a strudel flavor, ideal for breakfast or a snack.
If you don’t like cinnamon, you can easily omit it or replace it with spices of your choice.

Ingredients
- 1 roll puff pastry (round)
- 2 Golden Delicious apples (or Renette or other apples of your choice)
- 3 tbsps lemon juice
- 2 tbsps brown sugar (adjust the sweetness of the apples to your liking)
- 0.5 oz butter
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (level, optional ingredient, if you don't like it, replace it with vanilla or citrus zest)
- to taste granulated sugar
Tools
- 1 Pizza cutter
- 1 Cutting board
- 1 Peeler
- 1 Pan
- Parchment paper
Procedure
Wash the apples, peel them, cut into wedges and then into cubes. Put the cubes in a pan, drizzle them with lemon juice, add the brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon (if you don’t like it, you can omit it or replace it with citrus zest).
Cook for a few minutes over medium heat, just to soften them. Turn off the heat and let them cool.
Take the puff pastry, unroll it and cut it into 8 wedges. Drain the apples from the cooking liquid and place a tablespoon at the base of each triangle.
Roll the base of the triangle towards the tip forming croissants and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush the croissants with the apple cooking liquid and sprinkle them with granulated sugar.
Place them in a static oven preheated to 392°F for about 15 minutes (adjust according to the power of your oven) or until golden brown.
The puff pastry croissants with apples are ready, take them out of the oven, let them cool, and serve.
Tips
The puff pastry croissants with apples stay crispy for 2 days, you can store them at room temperature.
